George Ofori Sports Academy to begin amateur boxing in the Volta Region.

George Ofori Sports Academy( G.O Sports Academy ) is set to introduce amateur boxing in November, 2019 as part of efforts to expand the academy.

The Avatime based academy is currently nurturing football talents and is set to include boxing by November this year.

In an exclusive interview with Volta Premier Fm on Saturday, George Ofori who is the Founder and also Chairman of the Juvenile Club Owners Association of Ghana (JUCOAG )- Volta revealed that his decision to add boxing is to make sure all talents in the young ones are unearth in the region.
‘‘I decided to include amateur boxing because not everyone can play football. Even those playing football may be best boxers.I want to help the young ones to bring out their talents”.

The Volta JUCOAG Chairman disclosed that, launching of the new sports discipline in the academy will be outdoor when the Avatime Traditional Area celebrates their Rice festival in Amedzofe.

He also revealed plans of adding other sporting disciplines such as Volley,Handball and many others.
Registration of boxers currently open to interested applicants ahead of the launching in Amedzofe.
