Two weeks of roll out of the initial public offering of shares of the telecommunication giant MTN has yielded over 52,000 Ghanaians subscribing for shares in the company.
According to the Senior Manager, Marketing Planning Analytics, Guido Sopiimeh, 94% of the subscription has been done through MTN Mobile Money.
He reiterated that the response in terms of the usage of Mobile money is the first of it’s kind in the world and to have attracted the kind of response it has received so far.
” We are impressed about the response so far. And the bulk of it coming through Mobile money, which is the first channel of it’s kind in the world; we are happy Ghanaians have accepted this channel.”

These statements were made on the sidelines of the Volta regional launch of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) by MTN in Ho.
The General Manager of MTN business, Samuel Addo, stressed that MTN will continue to maintain it’s lead in the telecommunication industry in Ghana by delivering a bold digital world to delight customers, beyond finalizing the offer.
“In terms of business direction, you can be rest assured that our chosen fields of voice, data, digital and mobile money will continue. And we can only assure our partners and customers that in pursuit of delivering the bold new digital world and we will make sure we delight our customers.”- said Samuel Addo.
