Volta Football to become a model for Ghana Football – Daniel Agbogah

The Volta Regional Football Association says its working in earnest to attract the needed support to develop football in the Volta and Oti Regions to a stage worth replicating accros the country.

 

Addressing the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Johnson Avuletey earlier today, the FA Chairman, Daniel Agbogah says with the right attitude, support from all stakeholders and looking at how the association is building the capacity of its current members, the regions potential to nurture talents and make national impact in terms of football development can become a model for Ghana football.

 

“The idea is that we reposition our football in Volta Region. I think, we believe and being serious with our plans of this nature, well, we may become a football model in Ghana.” 

 

According to Mr. Agbogah, whilst the COVID-19 pandemic has affected its planned football calendar, the association has used the time to form and task committes with responsibilities to work behind the scenes with hope that, the pandemic would be over soon.

 

He further asked for the ministers support to get land for a permanent Secretariat of the FA, offices for existing nine functional football districts, good pitches and the need for district assemblies to support football in their respective areas.

 

Hon. Avuletey on his part assured the FA of government’s commitment to develop sports infrastructure and support all federations to unearth talents for the country. He promised taking practical steps in consultation with the minister with an action plan that he challenged the FA produce.

 

According to the Deputy Minister, because of the numerous challenges facing football ,an action plan would help them to decide which area to support at a time.

 

“I will task you to come out with action plan. Come with action plan, bring it so we can also study it and know the area we can support you.”

 

Members of the Executive Council included the association’s Vice Chairman, Caesar Hey, Innocentia Agbavitor, Richard Dogbey and Foster Kudiabor. The rest were Atsu Kuadey, Wisdom Baka, Mark Selorm Coffie and Martin Torku.
Also present was the RFA Secretary, Promise Ahiagba.
