Vice-Chancellor Inspects Expansion Works at HTU Clinic

The Vice-Chancellor of Ho Technical University, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga has inspected ongoing expansion works at the University Clinic on Friday, April 16, 2021. The project consisting of store rooms and an Emergency point, is being done by the Directorate of Works and Physical development.


Mr. Nicholas Awagah, Director of Works and Dr. Redeemer Fiebor, the Medical Director conducted the Vice-Chancellor round the project.

According to the Works Director, the project when completed in two weeks times, would provide space for the storage of medical consumables including medicines, while the emergency point would cater for emergency cases at the clinic.

The Vice-Chancellor in a remark, expressed satisfaction about the progress of work so far and was hopeful its completion would greatly improve the services of the clinic.

He said the decision of Management to relocate and expand the Clinic, was gradually yielding the desired results, as it now provides expanded services to both members of the University and its adjoining communities.

‘So far the clinic is doing very well and I’m happy that management took the decision to revamp the facility by employing a medical director and other staff, who are providing efficient services to the community.’

He noted that, management will continue to improve on the facilities at clinic even as they work towards the construction of a university hospital going into the future.

The Vice-Chancellor however commended the Medical Director and staff of the clinic for their dedication to duty, especially in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic situation within the University community.

HTU Clinic is located in bungalow No. 1 on the University campus and currently provides services in general Out-Patient, Reproductive health and family planning, dispensary, antenatal clinic, medical examinations and ophthalmology.

The clinic is also accredited by the National Health Insurance Authority to provide services to NHIS subscribers.
