The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo, on Sunday, 15th March, 2020, announced for the closure of all schools for four (4) weeks as part of the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. On Monday 16th March, 2020, the Vice Chancellor (V.C) of Ho Technical University (HTU), Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga gave a notice that, we leave campus following the President’s directive. And since then COVID-19 has taken over every story in the world.
There is no life on campus anymore: empty reading room, library, lecture halls and more. The school’s playing field is growing weeds. The food joints are feeling the emptiness. I am patiently waiting for this COVID-19 to be over so we can return to campus to feel all the missing moments with friends. Let us connect through the e-learning platforms introduced by Ho Technical University.
Whilst at home, know that new lights are being fixed on our streets and painting is also on going to give us a beautiful campus. Please wash your hands carefully and regularly, cover your mouth and nose with tissue when coughing and sneezing, dispose used tissues after use, avoid contact with other people if you suspect you have fallen ill. COVID-19 is real.
According to the Ghana Health Service, 287 cases have been confirmed positive as at Tuesday, 7th April, 2020. I’m on permission from my parents to use this time to volunteer at Volta Premier FM. I want to learn more about media alongside my HND Purchasing and Supply Programme.
