HTU: Hall Management Committees Inaugurated

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga has inaugurated new Management Committees for the two main Halls of Residence of the University – Acolatse/Vodzi and Adaklu Halls.


The committees which are creations of the Statutes of Ho Technical University, comprise Hall Wardens and Masters, representatives of the Registrar, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Director of Finance and Director of works, as well as JCR presidents and Hall Administrators.


Mrs. Esther T. Appaw-Agbola, Warden for Acolatse Hall, chairs the 8-member committee for the Acolatse & Vodzi Halls, with Ms. Juliet Nugble-Nunekpeku, the Hall Administrator as the Secretary; other members include, Mr. Mathew O. Agyemang-Duah – Vodzi Hall Master, Mr. Edem K. Honu – Rep. of Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel W. Selase – Rep. of Dean of Students Affairs, Ms. Yayra Bedie – Rep. of Director of Finance, Mr. Ferdinand N.K. Acorlor – Rep. of Director of Works, and Mr. Lincoln Hoggar – JCR President.


The 11-member Adaklu Management Committee, on the other hand comprises, the Hall Master, Dr. Donatus Ayitey, as Chairman and the Hall Administrator, Mr. Godwin Acolatse as the Secretary. The other members include, Dr. Aaron Dzigbor, Dr. Christiana N.A. Laryea, Dr. Moses K. Aidoo, Dr. Francis F.K. Nutsugah – all Vice-Hall Masters, Mr. Edem K. Honu – Rep. of Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel W. Selase – Rep. of Dean of Students Affairs, Mr. Albert Donya – Rep. of Director of Finance, Mr. Charles K. Atitsogbui – Rep. of Director of Works, and JCR President – Vacant.


Commissioning the committee members on Friday, 12th March, 2021 at the G.M. Afeti auditorium, the Vice-chancellor charged them to work diligently to create conducive place of abode for Junior Members of the University.


He said university experiences the world over, largely hinge on the residential life of students, hence the move by management to restructure the Halls on campus to give students a worthwhile experience.


He tasked the committees to ensure effective supervision, judicious management of the limited residential facilities, and instill discipline among hall members.


The Vice-chancellor also disclosed that, the University would engage private partners to provide additional Halls of residence to meet the demands of students.


Dr. Christopher Amehoe, the Registrar on his part noted that, management intends to affiliate Senior Members to the various Halls to promote cordiality and healthy rivalry among members of the University Community.
