Ho Technical University is Authorized Japan Motors Service Provider

Ho Technical University (HTU) has formalized its relationship with Japan Motors. The process which witnessed bilateral talks between the two institutions at various levels was today finally documented. A memorandum of understating (MOU) was penned by the two institutions in the F. O. Kwame Council Chamber of the University to commemorate the event.

Vice Chancellor of Ho Technical, Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga expressed gratitude to the team from Japan Motors for the honor done the University. He indicated managements commitment to the realization of the goals to the benefit of both parties. Prof. Honyenuga stated “the event has given the parties an opportunity to put pen-to-paper on thoughts of enhanced business and friendship for both institutions.”

In outlining few obligations of Japan Motors as contained in the document, team leader and General Manager (after-sales), Mr. Mohammed R. Byrouthy, stated the willingness of Japan Motors towards promoting research and career development programs for faculty and students of HTU. He again stressed the companys zeal to equip the Universitys auto bay with requisite tools and equipment that would aid in offering cutting edge service to its clients within the Volta/Oti enclave. He called on the University to ensure the tools and equipment were properly utilized and maintained. Mr. Byrouthy stated ensure proper care of tools and equipment that would be provided. We are looking forward to a very successful relationship with HTU. Let the signing of this MOU be the beginning of long lasting business between Japan Motors and HTU.

 

Prof. Ben Q. Honyenuga also indicated the Universitys resolve to ensure that whatever role it has to play to enhance the relationship is observed. He outlined some benefits of the partnership to include but not limited to provision of industrial attachment placements for students. Also, sponsorship of awards for graduating students, top-notch servicing of Nissan vehicles, supply of genuine spare parts among others. Signing of this document further strengthens the demonstration of what the University stands for. It is also part of the realization of the entrepreneurial dream of the University. Whilst it is aiding in decentralizing the services of Japan Motors, he called for amicable resolution of differences should any arise in future.

Head of Department for Mechanical Engineering, Rev. Ingr. Dr. S. T. K. Dzokoto applauded the partnership with the University and especially his department. He pledged the departments commitment to enhanced service delivery. Rev. Dr. Dzokoto added that the department currently offers the highest qualification in engineering, Master of Technology (M.Tech). Thus, its a dream come through to collaborate with Japan Motors. This is because, it will further enhance the marketability of graduates from the department. Rev. Dr. Dzokoto added that graduates from the department need no additional training on the job. This is because, the department offers them hands-on training and thus are ever ready for the job-market. Indeed, the difference is in the quality of graduates HTU churns out.

 

The team from Japan Motors was taking on an inspection of the Universitys Auto Bay and Mechanical Engineering laboratories. Japan Motors is a market leader in Ghanas auto industry and a leading transport solution provider in Ghana.
