Ho Technical University begins production of nose masks for staff

As part of its contribution to ensure the safety of staff against the coronavirus pandemic, the Department of Fashion, Ho Technical University has begun the production of nose masks to be distributed among staff on their partial resumption of work.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ben Honyenuga made this known during an interaction with some recalled staff who are to help in the implementation of an E-learning Management System Monday at the G.M Afeti Auditorium.

 

The production of the masks for staff according to the VC, will save cost and also challenge the workers and others who may support them to produce at this moment, an opportunity to sharpen their skills.

 

He challenged other departments to also use the pandemic to create something innovative as part of their contributions to the fight.

 

Head of the Fashion Department, Elizabeth Obinnim explained that the HTU production has met all basic standards to ensure the safety of staff.

She further added that her Department has the capacity to produce beyond the use of the institution only.

COVID-19 has so far infected over 1500 Ghanaians with 11 deaths and over 150 recoveries.

The development has halted academic activities after the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in an address to the nation on March 15, 2020 directed the closure of all schools for initial 4 weeks.
