‘Double’ is qualified to work with National Security-Retired Captain

A retired captain of the Ghana Armed Forces, George Nfodjoh has stated that the recruitment of Ernest Bright Akomea into national security should not be a surprise to many if his skills match what national security needed at the time.

According to the former Member of Parliament for Ho Central, the national security recruits people with diverse qualifications for special duties and in doing that every Ghanaian no matter the background can be recruited to serve the national interest including artisans, professionals and the highly educated.

Double’s inability to communicate in the English language as a national security operative became a matter of public concern, as  some people questioned how an illiterate mobile phone vendor could be recruited into national security.

But speaking on Perspective on Friday, the ex-soldier says Double’s background doesn’t matter.

“All manner of people, (work with national security) so when people say double is not qualified to be there, (I disagree). Double is qualified to be there. That is what they want. That kind of person who can go back to circle one day or once in a while and sit among them and they know that double is our own man”

Ernest Bright Akomea on Monday appeared before the Commission of Inquiry investigating the violence that marred January 31 by-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon to give his testimony on what transpired on the day after been named by Sam George, the Honourable Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram as one of the leaders of the national security SWAT Team.
