Mabel Adzimah wins first edition of CIMG/GOIL Entrepreneurial Awards

An Iced- Kenkey business proposal by a level 300 purchasing and supply student of Ho Technical University,Miss Mabel Adzimah was on Thursday May 9,2019 adjudged the best by a panel of experts in the finals of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana/GOIL Entrepreneurial, Marketing and Innovation Awards in Ho.

Mabel’s Bel’s Iced-Kenkey scored the highest mark of 98% from a 5 member panel after all finalists were assessed in areas of uniqueness of idea, product or service,the needs to satisfy, marketing and financial plan and the ability to create jobs to claim the ultimate prize of GH 7000.00.A group of there students namely Faith Anani,Edith Kufoalor and Sheriff Nnadozie with the company name Food Eminence Ventures came second with 92% to take away a GH 6000.00 prize at state. Other finalists were Peter Adzor of 3nity Bakery,Judith Anim and Norbert Tokoro of Exotic Agriculture Production Company, Sumaila Yahaya, Jonathan Kalai and Godwin Nutekpor of Hybrid Electronics and Bismark Dumor and Francis Gamli of B&F Poultry Farms.

Presenting the awards,the zonal manager of GOIL Ghana Limited,Mr. Joseph Adongo challenged the topmost winners to further research into their products to make sure they meet the requirements of regulatory authorities “please go and research so that you can meet every requirement of the (Ghana) Standard Authority,the Food and Drugs Authority and others.In doing so, people will believe that whatever you have put together for consumption is right and safe”

The HTU-CIMG/GOIL Entrepreneurial Marketing and Innovation Awards was launched in March 2019 after an earlier launch of the Student Leadership Awards Scheme by Mr. Patrick Akorli,the Managing Director of GOIL Ghana Limited and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, Marketing Man of the year 2015.
The scheme has GH 100.000 donation staggered over a 5 period.
The ultimate prize winner is to receive further training at HTU Business Incubation Centre.
Mabel who is a final year student is also required to serve the national service scheme at Ho Technical University.
