Two in Police grips for casting spell on President and others over creation of Oti Region

Two suspects are currently in the grips of  the Volta Region police command over attempts to cast a spell on some prominent  Ghanaians including the president,Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo over the creation of a new region out of Volta.
Ebenezer Atsu,32 and  Shepherd Acolatse,55 on or about 12 noon on Wednesday  December 5,2018 visited a shrine in Weta in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region with a list of people they wanted to spiritually manipulate to change their minds and stop all efforts towards the creation of “Oti’ region.
The hit list includes the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu,Volta Region Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, Regional Reorganisation Minister,Dan Botwe,Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensah,Justice Brobbey and Former NDC Chairman,Dr. Obed Asamoah.
The Spiritualist, Festus Kwashie Babanawo who suspected foul play alerted the police leading to the arrest of the two.
Briefing the media in Ho on Thursday December 6,2018, the regional police commander DCOP Francis Doku says the arrest  and interrogation of the two was to clamp down on people who are opposed to the creation of the new region and have threatened citizens including the police with  physical attacks and promised to add spiritual dimension to it.
Though it is unclear what charges will be levelled against them in a spiritual matter,DCOP Doku insists  any activity to subvert the  state needs police response. “Don’t forget if you set out to subvert the sovereignty of the republic of Ghana, you commit a crime”
The suspects have named one John from Ashaiman as one of the names behind a group that sent them.
The police command maintains that they are committed to a violent free referendum before, during and after and  will stop any group, including Western Togoland Group that it suspects is behind some of these activities of inciting the public. “”If they do ,we will crash them”.
A suit challenging the unconstitutional nature of limiting the referendum to specific areas was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday November 28 in a unanimous decision by the 7 member panel.
The Electoral Commission has slated December  27,2018 for a referendum on the creation of 6 regions in Ghana.
