Makafui Woanyah is Volta NPP Chairman

Makafui Kofi Woanyah is now the Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party upon winning a landslide in the just ended regional executive elections held at Hohoe on Saturday April 21. Makafui served as the regional organizer before filing for the position of Chairman.

The Incumbent Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region, Joseph Homenya had been retained as the Regional Secretary. Joseph Homenya a banker who resigned from his job at Fidelity bank to concentrate on party work when the NPP was in opposition is currently the Volta regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority.

It was a tough race between Homenya and Enoch Amegbletor, deputy regional communications officer of the party who is currently pursuing his Master of Arts(MA) in Public Relations at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Even though there was a third candidate – Innocent Wynford Tetteh, the results show a stiff competition between Homenya and Amegbletor. the third candidate 5 votes. Homenya had  265 votes while Amegbletor had 217 votes.

The Regional Organizer position was secured by Emmanuel Bodja with 301 votes with closest contender was Divine Bosson polling 179 votes. The Regional NADMO Director Director Divine Bosson could not pull his weight through to secure the position, given Bodja an overwhelming endorsement.
